Novella, misunderstanding, NASA, badass MC, sweet male character, STEM
Below Zero By Ali Hazelwood
Ok so the book nice. Plus point is that it is a very quick read so perfect for when you are in a reading slump.
Features women in STEM which is really cool and this one focuses on Hannah who works at NASA. Hannah is relatable, I mean who doesn’t get insecure about relationships right?
I do like how hard working she is and how loyal she is to her friends. The whole friend group dynamic is really wholesome and I do recommend reading the other novellas as well as Mara and Sadie and their boyfriends make an appearance in this one. But it can also be read as a standalone.
IAN FLOYD. He is amazing, smart, funny, caring and patient. I do like how their relationship progresses but obviously what’s a book without misunderstandings and conflict and it was done very well considering the length of the book. Even though this is a novella it doesn’t seem incomplete it has a storyline and a plot.
My one teeny tinnie issue with this novella is that I was kinda weirded out when Ian started comparing her body parts to the topography on Mars during sex. Now to each their own but I found that unnecessary and weird.
So all in all a okayish read, good if you want to read something before you sleep but don’t want to stay up all night finishing a book.
Also I don’t particularly understand much about physics and Space but if you are into that then you will enjoy this as there is some space jargon (which I read and pretended to understand)
So my final rating for this is 3/5.
Lemme know how you liked the book and if you enjoyed the other novellas as well.
okay now I have to go to sleep.
