Must read 🏆

Incredibly relevant and engaging, a stand-out in the genre. Steve Kennedy clearly understands storytelling and it shows.

Synopsis

A pandemic swept across the globe. Everything shut down. Airports, businesses, schools. Cell phone service and electricity soon followed. The virus turned people insane, causing them to attack anything that moved. Armed forces were quickly overrun, and every citizen was in a fight for their life.

Samantha was able to survive the initial onslaught of infected. Now she decides to venture out from upstate New York to find her husband, who was stranded in Los Angeles. Determined to be reunited with her love, she sets out through the hell that the United States has become.

Along the way, she meets Jason, another survivor, who was separated from his wife in Flagstaff, Arizona. They decide to travel together, helping each other reach their spouses. They soon find they’ll have to make difficult decisions in order to survive.

But how long can someone cling to their values and morals in a world that has abandoned such things?

Among the Dead is the first book of the In the Valley trilogy.

Where to begin? The characters are strong and the story draws you in and pulls you alongside them as they face impossible choices and situations. This book is a breath of fresh air for the genre. Steve Kennedy's writing style is compelling, easy-to-read, and you can tell he has a true passion for his characters. He stays true to them, which not many authors do. I highly recommend this book!
