Synopsis
A Rose For Grandma is a heartwarming story of a young Toronto girl, Annie, whose beloved grandmother is diagnosed with dementia. Although Annie is scared, devastated and confused, she commits to doing everything she can to help her grandmother.
The book provides young people with valuable information about Alzheimer’s Disease, navigating their feelings when a family member is diagnosed, and how they can help their loved ones through compassion and understanding. It also encourages families to be open about their feelings, and reminds them that, dementia impacts everyone.
Although Dementia has reached epidemic proportions globally, it's still not talked about much. My hope is that my this book which is the first one in a series of 3, will be a conversation starter.
Together, we can learn about this devastating disease, explore ways to prevent occurrences and stop dementia in its tracks.

A Rose for Grandmother is a story about Alzheimer’s Disease by Christiana Egi. Here, Christiana Egi chose a blooming and meaningful name for her book i.e. “A Rose for grandmother”. Blood relations are beautiful face of the society and Christiana painfully felt that a weak family system is spreading its wings in the society which is death of ethics. So she gave first impression path through “A Rose for Grandmother”.
There is a hope, life and freshness of a flower in the title page. This heart touching title is a springy breeze in today’s scorching noon. The writer’s mind set is impressive that she meaningfully focused on title. In the garden of publication, it is a main gate of any book. This imaginary step, I mean giving a friendly name to this book, she attracted the common readers by saying that peace and love is need of this universe.
The plot of the story is related to society where the author is living and completing her dreams and plans for the future, which is a realistic thing that takes place in the grading of any literary piece. The writer chose an event from the society and gifted it to the new generation as a road map of life. This sympathetic topic wetted the eye’s corner and awoke the sleepy passions of love and care. This world stands for love and Christiana, the writer, presented an evergreen Rose to the older people. It doesn’t mean that this is just a flower which is presented to the sick person, I think this symbol has many aspects, out of which the one is love, care and shelter from new generation to the older people.
The useful knowledge regarding Alzheimer’s and dementia has been narrated effectively in the book, according to the scenes and situations. This was difficult step which has been painted properly by the author.
She is well-wisher of all ages. It is the author’s first book and I am astonished how easy she discovered the soul of literary tomb.
Overall, I found this book as a smart study. This topic is the basic thought of these days, which demands our time. The author tried in a best way to join the broken relations between the old and young ones. There is a literary mind set in her writing and I hope Christiana Egi will continue her writing journey.
