Worth reading 😎

A small-town reverse harem Omegaverse romance at its best. Cozy yet predictable.

A Pack for Autumn is a small-town romance standalone by Emilia Emerson. This novel is a part of a shared universe titled Cozyverse, which features another omegaverse/reverse harem story set in the same town.

The book follows our FMC, Olive, as she starts a new job as Starlight Grove’s new Lighthouse Keeper. Our MMCs, Easton, Lars, and Finn descend into Olive’s life as the contractors for the lighthouse restoration that was forced upon her by the town. Olive likes her personal space, and these three alphas also like Olive’s personal space. This book follows the journey of Olive feeling like an outsider and her three alphas loving her regardless.

Firstly, I love a cozy omegaverse with a unique plot and unique characters. Sadly, I feel like the genre as a whole has become very saturated, and as a result, more recent Omegaverse works feel like they are loosely based on one another. I had high hopes for this book since I don’t often pick up seasonal and small-town-based books, but the plot and characters felt like something I had read time and time before. Most importantly, Oliva, Easton, Lars, and Finn were fine as characters. Olive was understanding and shy initially, but I feel like she didn’t really have much development in terms of her character and relationships. It felt very 0-100 too fast. The alphas were enjoyable to read and follow but felt too overbearing at times.

The plot was interesting, and I was invested enough to want to see what the characters faced next. The side characters really added a lot to this book, including Felix the cat who did the heavy brunt of matchmaking! The dialogue was standard, but there were sweet moments between Olive and the alphas as individuals and as a collective. This book deals with some heavy themes, which you wouldn’t really assume based on the cover or blurb, but they were relatively okay to navigate as a reader.

If this is your first time delving into omegaverse romance, then give A Pack for Autumn a go, but if you have already exhausted the genre then I probably wouldn’t recommend this book.
