Must read 🏆

Perfect if you enjoy a slow-burn, mild to moderate spice levels, a web of intricate character relationships, and magic to tie it together.

ACOTAR is a High Fantasy, set in a world where the Fae have been separated from the humans using the great wall; a result of a war that occurred hundreds of years ago.

Feyre Archeron is a human girl trying in vain to support her two sisters and crippled father in the impoverished side of their human town. Feyre, being the sole provider for her family, has turned to hunting in the forest outside the village, talented with a bow and arrow.

One day, Feyre mistakes a shifted fae for a wolf, killing it with an arrow. Hours later, Feyre is home with her family when a horrific beast barges into their home, demanding that she live out the rest of her days in the fae land as payment for her murder.

Feyre later discovers that the 'beast' that ripped her from all she knew is the High Lord of the Spring Court, a powerful fae with questionable motives.

Her story develops from there.

I appreciated every single aspect of this wondrous fantasy romance. From the worldbuilding to the description of the characters, A Court of Thorns and Roses will keep a reader hooked and trembling from the first page all the way to the terrible, beautiful ending.

Feyre's character development is wonderfully displayed, supported by the delightful writing of the overall novel. The characters come across many obstacles, and it kept me on the edge of my chair throughout the entire read.

ACOTAR is especially perfect if you enjoy a slow-burn romance, a mild to moderate measure of spice, a web of intricate character relationships, and magic to tie it all together.

The only flaw within the masterpiece was the pace of the book. Slow-paced novels can be amazing reads when written and organized properly, however ACOTAR was slightly too slow for my taste. However, there are many readers who enjoy a slower-paced novel, and I'm sure they would enjoy this book immensely.

Happy reading!

I'm Jessi, I'm an avid reader and active reviewer, and I love fantasy and romance books. I enjoy spending time with my dog, family and friends, but over all curling up on the sofa with a hot chocolate and a paperback novel is my ideal afternoon.
