Synopsis:
A DUTY SHE CAN’T ESCAPE.
FEELINGS SHE CAN’T DENY.
THE FATE OF AN EMPIRE LIES IN THE BALANCE.
The seal is breaking. Vengeful creatures known as the akbarrin emerge from the Shadows to punish humanity by order of an ancient, unhinged enemy.
Bound by a bloodline oath to protect the princess of Beldemar, Aryam Sinanan has spent her life training for this moment.
Except…she never truly saw it coming.
The empire of Beldemar has been safe from the akbarrin for centuries. Why should Aryam sacrifice her youth and happiness for such an unlikely calling? Why should she live and die in service and solitude like the generations of guardians before her?
Surely, it wouldn’t matter if she missed a few workouts here and there.
When the akbarrin assassinate the king, when the threat of war crashes into her life, Aryam leaves everything she loves behind and joins her sister guardians to fight with their spirit weapons.
The problem is Aryam doesn’t have one.
Review of A Chord of Silver Moons
*Tylisha Washington's* *A Chord of Silver Moons* is, beautifully knit together with fantasticalness, romance and self discovery. As for that story here; this seems to be that wonder-filled place where music, love, and magic converge beautifully, bringing forward the text that at once comes off not only as enticing but is also emotionally valid. Their relationships, and growth-and mystical power over music-that all have nicely well-demarcated environments in a richly crafted world through the novel itself.
The story deals with the journey of this young woman whose life becomes never the same after hearing about the mystical connection which exists between music and the celestial forces. The entire plot revolves around the "chord of silver moons," which symbolizes, besides being a magical force, a metaphor of interconnectedness of the universe. Washington uses this imagery to great effect while creating a narrative that works well in both beauty about music and the vast cosmos.
One of the notable features of the novel has to be the lyrical prose by Washington. Deeply evocative writing, the author's text creates a world that would take readers deep into another dimension, where the borderline between the real and supernatural is often blurred. It was not unusual but very captivating to believe in music as a potential force that was almost close to the divine. Paralleling this protagonist to her learning of the reality of her power, that something much greater than themselves could be realized through their art of music.
Characters in *A Chord of Silver Moons* are well developed with each having his or her own motives and emotional depth.
The novel is centered on the self-discovery journey of the protagonist, and Washington is very good at capturing the inner turmoil and growth that the protagonist undergoes. The romance in the novel is also delicately created, adding emotional layers to the plot without overpowering the more fantastical elements. The relationships between the characters are complex, and readers will find themselves deeply invested in both the personal and mystical aspects of the story.
The novel is very intentional in letting the story come along slowly and contemplatively. Washington doesn't hurry along the narrative so much as to make it feel hastened to the reader; instead, she lets one revel in the magical world she has created. For a reader who likes the fast-paced plots, this could be too slow-drawing, but for a reader who loves a richly atmospheric story, this speed just feels perfect. It runs the gamut: from self-discovery, and inner strength, to powers of connection. *A Chord of Silver Moons* is as much an emotional and spiritual voyage of growth as it becomes in the external challenges from which the protagonist must conquer himself. The book then sets out to remind us-and so celebrate-the beauty as well as the power behind this universal language called music by understanding our own human potential and the forces involved that shape our lives as individuals. Finally, to sum up, *A Chord of Silver Moons* is a suspense novel that will attract every lover of lyrical prose and magical realism, especially people interested in stories of growth and development. Tylisha Washington has composed breathtakingly complex and rich narration exploring deep emotional themes wrapped up in a world of wonder and mystery. This book is a must-read for all the fans of contemporary fantasy and introspective fiction. The book has an interesting plot, great character development, and the use of music as magic.
