60 Kinesthetic Grammar Activities

Loved it! 😍

Well-structured book about teaching grammar through activities that require movement

Where I live, English grammar is taught using a book authored by Wren and Martin. So I was surprised to find this kinesthetic approach to learning grammar. The activities are categorized by CEFR level, so instructors can choose them based on the learning level of their students.

Each activity is provided with the following information: aim, CEFR level, time, and preparation required. I wish I'd been taught like this--these activities sound like a lot of fun!

I found the foreword fascinating-- it shows how the concept of movement in language learning evolved. Another useful section has five pertinent tips for success to help the instructor make the activities more productive.

What I noticed is that the activities don't need elaborate props and instructors can make use of whatever is already available. I can see these activities being used by teachers in my country to elevate our dry grammar classes.

The activities aren't too time-consuming, either, so they can be incorporated into a session without sacrificing time required for a regular lesson. There are plenty of examples to help the instructor get started with the activity.

I found this concept of language learning unique and refreshing. Great book!

My reviews are for readers. I attempt to write balanced reviews to help people decide if they'd like to pick up the book. I also post reviews to Amazon India, Goodreads, and my blog:
