Overview
Hello! I have been a staff book designer for Morrow Junior Books, Greenwillow Books, Farrar, Straus and Giroux, Random House and Studio Fun, formerly known as Reader’s Digest Children’s Books and Associate Art Director for Topix Media, LLC helping them with their kid’s books and licensed kid’s magazine covers!
I also have quite a bit experience with design and production for independent publishers. I’ve designed cookbooks, social awareness books, created lift-the-flap dielines and produced a board book for an independent author in California, I created enhanced fantasy art with stock photography and Photoshop plus designed the covers of all 5 and the interior of 2 fantasy series in keeping with Game of Thrones, and I designed and art directed 2 picture books for Mom Publishing. And I'd be happy to add you to my list of happy authors as well!
I put a lot of thought, care and research into every book idea that comes my way starting with thumbnail sketches, page-turns (what text should go on each page), market research and reference, sketches, finished art and appropriate typography to properly convey the tone of each and every book I produce. I also provide my extensive technical knowledge to consult with each client on the best way to produce their book according to their needs, be it paperback, ebook or hardcover. Constant communication is key to the best output and product. Your book is unique and deserves thought and care as best prescribed for your project. I do not consider my services a commodity, but a collaborative union between creatives. I serve to enhance your project to shine the best light on it to the best of my ability.
It is not often that I work on the sales and marketing of a book, but I can help with that too, if desired.
