Overview
In venturing into the creative writing field, I found my inner child was leading the way...which led me to memories of my first full-length book. I completed that novel when I was a mere 5-6 years old, and I remember clearly the realization (my first real epiphany, really) that I was going to be a writer and author. Every one of the 5,000 or so books that I've read over my lifetime taught me something, regardless of the genre. Whether it was my beloved historical romances, or real-life tales of adventures...or a more sobering war-time personal account...it kept me spellbound and feeling full and satisfied that I had somehow expanded and become more of myself.
This is the sort of precious experience I had always intended for my future readers. To add something of value to someone's life through my writings, perhaps a lesson, an insight or merely inspiration...well, is there anything more a writer could wish for?

While I worked full-time in my first two weekly newspaper jobs as reporter/photographer/acting editor, the majority of my journalism career was on a freelance basis. I wrote for a variety of publications in many niches, from sports and special events to news, entertainment and people-profiles.
