Overview

I'm an editor with eight years of experience developing bestselling, award-winning fiction and nonfiction, at Little, Brown and Company (Hachette Book Group) and William Morrow (HarperCollins Publishers).

In my years at HarperCollins I worked on commercial fiction, especially crime/mystery, and a range of nonfiction, from celebrity memoirs to pop culture/food/sports stories to narrative nonfiction. I acquired and edited award-winning books, including Lou Berney's Edgar Award-winning novel The Long and Faraway Gone and Margot Lee Shetterly's Anisfield-Wolf Award-winning Hidden Figures, which was adapted into an Oscar-nominated film and has been #1 New York Times bestseller in multiple formats. At Little, Brown I've developed and edited short fiction, standalone novels, and books in beloved series by the world's bestselling author, James Patterson, and have seen at least fifteen of those titles make it to the New York Times bestseller list.

I've been a guest and speaker at several writers' conferences, and teach a writing class focused on book proposals. I've honed my project management and line editing skills, but most of all I love working with authors to sharpen their message and vision, collaborating to make a book as strong and compelling as it can be. That working relationship is the best part of the process (that, and holding a finished book in your hands!).
