I took on editorial responsbility for a full list of projects and was entrusted to deliver on some challenging schedules and formats, including books+ titles.
Key duties:
• Managing projects from conception through to production.
• Writing engaging marketing copy, including Amazon product descriptions, KSP’s and back cover copy.
• Proofreading, fact-checking and inputting editorial amends to ensure total accuracy.
Achievements:
• Led the commissioning of an all-new activity pack in two months, negotiating a workable schedule with the illustrator and their agent. This resulted in all the art coming in on time, on budget and with all suppliers, markets and clients satisfied.
• Developed and implemented a creative style guide for an own IP children’s range.
• Authored a Valentines board book that was selected by Target for their competitive end-cap program.
Parragon Books
In this role, I provided valuable support to the children's team during a busy period, helping to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and quality of all materials, as well as the smooth running of the children's department on an administrative level.
Achievements:
• Successfully produced three floor colouring pads for Sainsburys.
• Heavily involved in the Little Learners refresh.
• Project managed 15 Gold Stars educational workbooks.
The Wilkie Collins Journal
I co-managed the key social media accounts to generate exposure for this academic journal.
Responsibilities
• Scheduled relevant and engaging content to establish a strong online presence across multiple platforms, using digital tools like HootSuite. (Twitter, Facebook)
• Assisted the Chief Editor by proofreading and offering input on journal submissions.
• Researched and maintained an awareness of academic material.
