I am a journalist, editor and proofreader with more than 20 years' experience in both the consumer and business-to-business publishing markets. My most recent position was as editor of the UK's best-selling angling magazine (Improve Your Coarse Fishing) owned by Bauer Media. I held this post for two years before leaving to concentrate on freelance opportunities at the start of 2015.
Prior to that I worked on the same company's weekly national newspaper Angling Times, where I held a number of positions over 8 years, beginning as News Editor and culminating in Head of News and Features.
Before moving to Bauer, I worked for 10 years for a large American business information publisher, whose UK offices were based in Devon. My chief role was to research, write and edit extensive reports on the world's ever-changing media markets. These were purchased by all the main broadcasters, IT companies and publishing houses across Europe, the US and Asia.
I have also proofread a large number of books and 'bookazines', and have published many freelance magazine and online articles.
I am confident in my abilities to research, write, edit, sub-edit or proofread copy covering a wide range of subjects, although my main areas of expertise centre around the wildlife environment and outdoor pursuits, in particular angling, country walking and various sports.
