Since 2010, I have been editing various forms of text. From coffee table art books to novels to magazines (both online and print). I love editing and proofreading, I love the sense of accomplishment in helping someone else get that much closer to seeing their work out in the world for people to see. After completing my Honours Bachelors of Arts in Professional Writing and English in 2013, I took my education and publishing experience further by completing a Graduate Certificate in Publishing (Book, Magazine, and Electronic) in 2015. I have experience editing in the Canadian Style Guide, Chicago Manual of Style (16th edition), and in-house Style Guides, so regardless of what guide you follow, I can proof to your needs.

Used WordPress to make edits, add posts to company website and SnowOnline, a weekly newsletter sent to 100,000+ subscribers.
Ensured that site content was user-focused and consistent in style, tone, format, and quality by adhering to Home Depot’s Style Sheet.

Performed Editorial Assistant duties such as: researching content for student and teacher website, proofreading content ready to be sent to print, and levelling content to ensure that it was written for the proper grade level.

Received manuscripts of articles from staff copy editors and writers, reviewed them to ensure accuracy of spelling, grammar, and syntax before sending them to the Editor-in-Chief for final review.

Edited transcripts of meeting minutes and submitted the final copy to the Assistant of the Dean of the School of Communications.

Rewrite raw transcripts of interviews to coherent, presentable manuscripts for publication.
