Stan Swanson

Stan Swanson – Editor

Young adult and middle grade fiction specialist. Author of a dozen titles. Over 25 years of editing experience.

Overview

I'm a professional editor with over 25 years of experience in fiction and edit anything from short stories and novels to poetry and songwriting lyrics. I can help you with everything from basic grammar and punctuation to deep developmental edits at a reasonable cost. I have many years of experience with self-published authors in addition to traditionally published authors. I can guide you through every detail to make your book the best it can be.

Not only do I have years of experience as an editor, but I am also an author with over a dozen published titles. Being an author is a tremendous advantage for you as I look at things from multiple perspectives and I know what it takes to make your manuscript shine.

My first love is children’s books including picture books, chapter books, middle-grade and young adult fiction, but I also enjoy the action/adventure genre for adults including horror, science fiction and fantasy.

Whether you need a basic grammar polish or a deep developmental edit, you'll find my services prompt, thorough, encouraging, and affordable. In fact, anyone asking for a quote here on Reedsy will get a free edit (proofreading, copy edit, or developmental edit) of the first chapter of their novel. (Developmental edits are difficult with only one chapter, so a synopsis should also be included.)

I'm new to Reedsy, so I don't have the reviews yet, but my background and experience speak for themselves. My goal is to help you make your work the best it can be.
