I specialize in unique interiors for memoir, various fiction, and simple to complex nonfiction. 175 and counting with no duplicates!

Overview

If you're seeking a layout artist to create an interior for your book that will be as seamless and fitting as a perfect movie score to a film, I would love to bring your labor of love to life! With my organic approach, gift of instinct, and penchant for typography, I will craft an interior with specialized fonts and those "just right" elements to match the tone and genre of your book, as well as to complement your cover. The result is a beautiful backdrop for your words that creates the optimum reading experience for your audience.

To date, I have created nearly 300 distinct interiors for everything from women's, historical, YA, and literary fiction, to a wide range of memoir, to mystery, to academic language books, and from simple to highly complex nonfiction in the categories of business/leadership, self-help/well-being, communication, sports and hobbies, parenting, writing, cooking, and specialty gift and inspirational titles. The more specialized your book, the more I love getting creative for you! But I love the simple ones too ... often coming up with their subtle nuances is equally challenging and rewarding.

She Writes Press

Sep, 2013 — Present

I have designed over 220 interiors for a range of memoir, select nonfiction, and various types of fiction—including women's, historical, and literary—for She Writes Press authors. What distinguishes me from some layout artists is that I don't use templates—I always strive to create a completely unique and organic interior for every book project I'm given. After nearly 300 interiors to date, there's not a duplicate in the bunch!

Self-employed

Jun, 2011 — Present

I have designed over 60 distinct interiors for my personal author clients, each one not only created with the most fitting typography and specialty elements, but also sprinkled with love throughout. My goal is for every reader to simply sense that the interior feels right for the book, whether or not they notice how thoughtfully the particular style choices were made or not.

I have also designed over 65 covers for various memoir and nonfiction in the arenas of self-help, leadership, parenting, collectibles, sports and hobbies, travel, writing, poetry, inspirational/gift, and academic language books, the majority of which are displayed below in my portfolio.
