Sophie Soar – Editor

I am a freelance proofreader, who has primarily worked on books on child and adult mental health, but who has interests in many other areas.

Overview

I have been a freelance proofreader since 2015, working on many projects, from travel website translations to a wide variety of books on psychology, with its various subsections, and child and adult mental health. My background is in the arts therapies and mental health and I retain a strong interest in these. However, I am very happy to proofread anything - I actually just really enjoy proofreading!

Work experience

Sophie Soar

Mar, 2016 — Present

I have proofread brochure and website translations, business psychology reports and books on psychology, mental health and wellbeing, trauma, fostering and adoption, autism and dementia, amongst others. I am currently doing an MA in Writing for Children and Young adults and as a result of this, as well as being a mother to two young children, am familiar with a wide variety of children's and YA fiction. I am meticulous and professional and work efficiently to deadlines - and I really enjoy the work!
