"Sheila has worked closely with me on my novels, always providing invaluable insight and feedback on whatever book I’m working on, including both detailed line-by-line suggestions and comments, as well as overall guidance. She has not only made my books much better. She has made me a better writer."

—Robert Beatty

Author of Serafina and the Black Cloak, Willa of the Wood, and other novels published by Disney Hyperion

I've worked with some very special middle-grade authors.

They're special not just because many of the titles we worked on together have landed on the New York Times bestseller list, but because these authors speak to kids who still have one foot in the magical world of childhood even as they approach the unknowns of adulthood.

These authors make it easier for kids to make that transition. They make it fun. Not by talking down to kids, but by meeting them where they are, by telling them the truth, even if that truth sometimes comes in the form of a fantasy novel.

Are you one of these special people?

If so, I'd be honored to join you early in the journey as you're developing your manuscript, travel with you as you piece it together, and weigh in when you've got a first draft written and aren't sure what to do next. Together, we will find out.

Sheila provided me with exactly what I was looking for. Communication with her was always timely. The editing she performed was easy to follow and made me more confident sending out query letters. Her suggestions on plot/story/character development helped me communicate my story more clearly, giving it a better flow, and hopefully keeping the reader more engaged. I enjoyed the experience and r...
