I’ve had a love affair with words for as long as I can remember. You could always find me hidden behind the bookshelves, nose firmly planted in the musky pages of a well-thumbed horror or crime paperback, as I inhaled those stories with a frantically beating heart. Then my teens hit, and my love for words battled with my love for boys—and better yet, book boyfriends. Ever since then, I have devoured thousands of romance stories, finding my niche in contemporary romance, with a particular interest in the growing New Adult genre and in gay romance.
As a writer myself (of romantic comedies and New Adult for both straight and gay couples—hence the name of my editing business, “One Love”), I understand the struggles of getting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) to get your words out. The best piece of advice that I have for you, which admittedly I find hard to follow myself, is to get it out, get those words down on paper, and worry about the editing later. That’s where I come in. I can help you bring your story together and polish the words that you’ve brought to life.
Professionally, I’m completing my Editing Certificate at Simon Fraser University (Canada) and hold a Bachelor of Psychology from Murdoch University (Australia). I recently left a ten-year career in human resources to concentrate on editing full-time. Along with my freelance editing, I’m also an editor and proofreader for Dreamspinner Press. I look forward to working with you on your manuscript!
Structural and copy editing LGBTQ romance fiction for Dreamspinner and its imprints.
One Love Editing offers specialized structural and copy editing and proofreading services to the contemporary romance community. Whether your manuscript needs one final glance before you hit “Submit,” or a fresh set of eyes to catch those pesky plot holes, I can help you bring your story one step closer to being publishing ready.
Unleash those words—but do it error-free. Please feel free to contact me if you’d like to talk more about your manuscript!
