I'm a development editor in the education space with a passion for helping teachers teach and students learn. I spent six years in editorial at Macmillan Learning providing guidance to authors on bestselling, industry-leading textbooks for college courses in writing and literature. More recently, I've completed a variety of freelance writing and consulting projects for Macmillan, researching and writing everything from essay prompts to author biographies for textbooks. I also taught writing for two years at the college level. My experience designing courses and providing detailed feedback to students informs all of my editorial work. I know firsthand the difference that thoughtfully-developed educational materials make in the classroom, and I work tirelessly to ensure that every piece of content I assess or create contributes to a superior learning experience for students and their teachers.
I've written essay prompts, classroom discussion questions, quizzes, contributor biographies, and other learning materials for bestselling college writing and literature textbooks published by Macmillan Learning, where I worked as an in-house editor for six years. I've also provided freelance editorial consultation on these textbooks, researching and recommending third-party content (examples of writing in specific genres, excerpts from longer works illustrating specific rhetorical or stylistic moves, etc.).
