Copy-editing is the first stage in your publication process. It involves correcting grammatical, punctuation, typographical and spelling errors. Where a sentence lacks clarity, I will suggest some rewording and recommend academic amendments if appropriate, e.g. replacing basic words with more formal alternatives. I endeavour to improve the style and flow of your writing by re-writing or restructuring if necessary (providing clear and concise feedback using Track Changes and Comments boxes so you can quickly and easily accept or reject proposed suggestions). I also check bibliographies if required and advise on integrating your sources.
Proofreading is the final stage in your publication process. It aims to pick up any outstanding grammatical, punctuation, typographical, spelling or miscellaneous errors that may have occurred or been overlooked during the many stages of writing. A final proofread will give a polished, professional feel to your work. Once completed, you are all set for publication!
