Overview
I began reviewing books when I was 14, however more than simply reading the books and sharing my opinions online, I learned how to study them. What makes certain books successful, and others flop? Over the years, reading became more than just a hobby, it became a passion and at the end of my high school years I found myself committed to more than 20 publishers as a reviewer, including Bethany House, WaterBrook, Tyndale House, and Harper Collins divisions, and reviewing more than a 75 books a year.
In college, my focus switched from the already established authors to the up-and-rising, Indie authors, and with that switch came my interest in editing and proofreading. Add to that, my year and a half internship with Hartline Literary Agency and C.Y.L.E under Cyle Young, and my experience in the literary field only continues to grow as time goes on.
-My Editorial Assessment services are limited to only Young Adult audiences for Speculative Fiction (Fantasy, Dystopian, Science Fiction, etc). In providing these services you can expect a detailed feedback report of your book highlighting my constructive criticism (or compliments!) on:
-Character Development
-World Building
-Plot Effectiveness
-Readability (Language Consistency/Verbiage)
-Mentions of Any Slow Spots or Scenes
-Feedback on Book Cover (optional)
-And any other opinions or requests
-Proofreading services are available to Children's Books, Adult Fiction, Young Adult/New Adult Fiction, and Middle Grade Fiction. With these services, you will receive a line-by-line edit, with a per-chapter overview of:
-Misspellings/Typos
-Punctuation Evaluation
- Grammatical uses of words
-And suggestions for a sentence improvement if needed.
-Query Letter Reviews. Because I worked with the literary agency and spent much time reviewing the Submissions Inbox, I have read many letters from the agent standpoint and I know what generally turns them away and what pulls them in. In my review of your letter, I will look for typos and misspellings, but more than that, I can offer suggestions of what to add to your letter, what to leave out, whether it's too long or short, or answer any questions you may have before sending it out, to the very best of my abilities.
I enjoy working with traditionally published authors and self published authors alike, so whether you're a beginning author nervous about your debut release, or looking to polish up your fiftieth novel, I would love to work with you!
The genres I WILL NOT accept are:
-Horror
-Erotica
-LGBQ+
-NonFiction
