I specialize in speculative fiction subjects: fantasy, science-fiction, and the supernatural, whether whimsical or horrific. I also enjoy thriller, mystery, history, and non-fiction new age, spirituality, Wicca and witchcraft topics.
When illustrating a story, I think it's vital for the mood and texture of the art to match that of the story, so I strive to pick a medium, style, colors, and other elements that emulate that mood. My work is primarily digital (digital painting, photo manipulation, and vector graphics) but I also work in traditional media such as pencil, colored pencil, pen and ink, charcoal, and acrylic paint. If you have a preference or have a particular style in mind, please don't hesitate to describe your idea to me.
I'm happy to give feedback, make suggestions, and supply preliminary sketches or comps to narrow the possibilities down and get a clear idea of what you're looking for before starting on the final piece.
Testimonial from The Future Fire ezine: Illustrations for Galatea's Stepchildren:
"Thanks for wonderful artwork... You'll see we've used it as the cover, and there's a double spread title page for the story in the PDF as well. Great stuff."
And from the author:
"I loved the cover art you did for my story "Galatea's Stepchlidren." It managed to capture the whole essence of the story in one picture. Well done, and you have my wishes for your continued success. If I ever get another shot at needing cover art, I'll keep your e-mail handy." --Sam S. Kepfield
