Overview
Bestselling author and award-winning journalist Michael Sean Comerford recently finished an epic "slow journalism" climate project bicycling the entire Atlantic, Pacific and Gulf coasts.
He's worked with the Los Angeles Review of Books, Chicago Tribune/New York Daily News, Chicago Sun-Times, Daily Herald, Moscow Times, Budapest Sun and Budapest Business Journal.
He recently bicycled 7,000 miles, across 21 states for about a year in one of the craziest climate years on record. He asked hundreds of ordinary people about their views and experiences with climate change from Maine to Key West, Seattle to San Diego and Mexico to the Everglades.
He's writing a book about 2023 - living in the climate, reporting on the climate. The project was in cooperation with the University of Florida. The tentative title for the book is πβπ ππ‘πππ¦ πΆπ¦πππ: π΄ππππππ'π πΆπππ π‘π ππ πΆπππππ‘π πΆπππ ππ .
Another slow journalism book called π΅πππ π‘ ππ ππππ ππ‘ππππ‘ was about bicycling the length of Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles in the winter of 2021, during a surge in Covid. He asked everyday people about their opinions on the pandemic of our time.
His first book was π΄πππππππ ππ: π΄π π΄π π‘ππππ βπππ ππππ πΌππ πππ ππππ£πππππ πΆπππππ£πππ ππ‘ πΉππ π‘π & ππ‘ππ‘π πΉππππ . In a work of immersion journalism, he worked rides and games from Alaska to Mexico, California to New York. It has been an Amazon bestseller for nearly three years. American OZ drew high critical acclaim.
Comerford has toured nearly 100 countries, ridden freight trains and rode herd out West and once narrowly escaped a hippo attack on the Zambezi River.
Comerford is a versatile writer, editor and journalist who is passionate and dedicated to high standards.
