Overview
I have developed and edited more than 40 published books for major Australian publishers, including Hardie Grant and the National Gallery of Victoria, the Southern Hemisphere's largest publisher of art books. I also have extensive experience as a journalist and newspaper editor.
I specialise in editing and developing non-fiction manuscripts – particularly history, visual arts, architecture, design, pop culture, narrative non-fiction, biography, and true crime – but with more than a decade's experience working with a wide range of content I'm comfortable with most things put in front of me. There's nothing I like more than seeing a good set of words finessed and moulded into a manuscript a reader can't put down.
When it comes to fiction, I love well-researched stories steeped in historical detail and with solid character development, but equally I love escaping to new worlds via science-fiction and fantasy – anything cerebral and psychological that gets a reader thinking in new ways is right up my alley. If your manuscript has a queer focus, even better. I have a lot of experience working with LBTQI+ content and provide a sensitive editing service that is up to date on the latest terminology and trends in this space.
My experience working for major publishers, empathetic approach to the editing process, and impeccable knowledge of style, grammar and spelling will put you on the right path to publication.
