For the past eleven years I have worked at the heart of non-fiction publishing in London. My various positions of desk editor, managing editor and commissioning editor have given me the experience in publishing a book from the very conception of an idea right through to the completed work sitting in a bookshop. If you need assistance in shaping and forming the concept, or an in-depth editorial review of the first draft, I would be delighted to work with you to help you reach the ever-elusive goal of a polished manuscript. If you have a manuscript in progress I can also provide copy-editing or proofreading services for the finishing touch. The gallery below shows covers of some of the books I have worked on over the past few years and you can see that the range of topics is broad, but in-depth. Most recently my focus has been on narrative social history, and in the illustrated bracket, it has been cookery and travel/guidebooks.
Physicists, chefs, actors, sports journalists, architects, artists, gardeners and writers are just a few of the people I have worked with in the wonderful and varied world of non-fiction publishing. I am flexible and sympathetic to an author's voice and needs – whatever form that may take. Hopefully I can work with you to help get your voice one step closer to being published.
