Overview
I've found that being a generalist allows me to draw on previous experiences in many niches to provide solutions you may not have thought of. In other words, it lets me think outside the box to improve your final product. And that's really what we're after, right?
I've published two books with Wiley (Facebook All-In-One For Dummies, 1st ed. and TypePad For Dummies), and I've edited many more titles in the For Dummies series. I had a blog named Blogging Basics 101 and sold it in 2014.

Work experience
Self-employed
I performed social media marketing audits including reviewing published materials and recommending revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and delivery. Opportunity and risk reports were included in this service along with optimizing company pages to increase the visibility of social content.
Social Media Examiner
I provided developmental and substantive editing for social media articles. I edited for clarity, consistency, and formatting. I also helped manage the master editorial calendar to choose article topics, arrange those topics so they were spaced out, and ensure we didn't have recurring contributing authors publishing articles too close together. This allowed us to stay ahead of our publishing schedule.
John Wiley and Sons
Since 2008, I’ve worked with Wiley off and on as both an author and an editor. I wrote Facebook All-In-One For Dummies (1st ed.) and TypePad For Dummies. I've also served as either a technical, developmental, or project editor for more than 10 books in the For Dummies series.
I edited for technical accuracy, organization, clarity, consistency, and formatting. I paid particular attention to maintaining the author’s voice throughout revisions.
Blogging Basics 101
I created the website Blogging Basics 101 to help beginning and intermediate bloggers understand the basics of using a CMS, how to reach and grow their audience, and how to use design elements to highlight important information and keep readers on the page. The site grew to encompass social media marketing principles as well.
Blogging Basics 101 was listed as one of Hubspot's top 10 blogs about blogging.
In 2014 I sold Blogging Basics 101 and am no longer affiliated with the site or its management.
Self-employed
I provide developmental, substantive, and technical editing, as well as proofing. My work has mostly been related to social media marketing, blogging, and business.
I also develop, create, edit, and manage the content for your website, marketing, and online needs. I customize my writing style to reflect a client’s persona and fit your audience's needs. I have a knack for distilling complex concepts and procedures into easy-to-understand copy.
