Key member of the editorial team responsible for partnering with Executive Editors, Art Directors, and cross-departmental stakeholders in order to create and deliver successful, high quality content to the market. Lists include children’s books, activity books for various ages, cookbooks, psychology, workbooks, self-help, special diets, and religion. Responsibilities included:
• Completion of four title starts per quarter from position to outline
• Collaboration with author acquisitions for final author vetting and approval

• Manuscript review and edits from rough draft to final pass
• Project management of an estimated 8-12 titles at a time in various stages of production

Jones & Bartlett Learning
Manager and lead editor of Jones & Bartlett’s Criminal Justice and The Learn Series lists. Position included project management of new titles and revisions to existing ones in addition to providing recommendations for strategic direction of the portfolio. Responsibilities included:
• Generated yearly gross revenue from book and digital media solution sales.
• Developed and proposed yearly strategy outline to Executive Editor and Publisher.
• Produced P&L for each title.
• Presented front list and strategy at offsite Sales Meetings.
• Vetted proposed manuscripts with an eye to market viability.
• Created customized market surveys to drive portfolio requirements.
• Managed author relationships and publishing partnerships, including contract and royalty negotiations.
• Oversaw all phases of production, hired and supervised additional editorial help, from freelance writers to technical editors
o Conducted editorial reviews of first through final pass.
• Implemented global updates to new editions in order to adhere to APA Stylebook guidelines.
• Generated significant cost savings by designing and implanting customized interior layout templates.
