I began my editing career more than twenty years ago as a research editor for a local company. In that role, I honed my technical editing and proofreading skills. I continue to work for the same company on a part-time basis, now as an international editor responsible for "translating" reports from American to British English and vice versa.
In 2004, I began my freelance writing and editing career. I have been editing books since a fellow yoga practitioner asked me to edit her now-published memoir in 2009. Since then, I have worked with numerous authors of self-published and traditionally published books using a solid skill set that continues to evolve.
My services include editing at every level, from developmental editing to line editing to proofreading. I have an in-depth knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and have taken many workshops and certification courses since earning an undergraduate degree in writing many years ago. I am also a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association.
I taught enrichment classes in all subject areas for students in pre-kindergarten through grade 8.
