Overview
I am an Executive Editor at HarperCollins Children's Books. I edit picture books, chapter books, middle grade, young adult, and graphic novels for all ages. I am particularly drawn to poignant or humorous picture books with surprising messages, as well as novels with voice-driven narratives that explore character drama, feature intersectional representation, or can transform genre tropes. I've been fortunate to work with many critically acclaimed authors, such as Corey Ann Haydu, Janae Marks, Jennifer Berne, Lyla Lee, and many more. I'm passionate about working with a diverse range of authors and ensuring that that the books we work on together have authentic and accurate representation.
As your editor, my first job is to understand what your vision for the book is. I'll help you understand how agencies, publishers, and the larger marketplace will respond to your project and if there are aspects of your book you can lean into to help better position it. I am here to help you develop or revise your manuscript, and we'll take a look at story, narrative tension, pacing, stakes, character motivations, dialogue, voice, and prose. I have over 10+ years of experience in the publishing industry, from literary agencies to publishing houses.
