I have 35 years of experience in Christian trade book editing at all levels: overall content (substantive editing), copy-editing (line editing), and proofreading. Genres include fiction, self-help, marriage and family, women's inspirational, devotional, memoir, and youth and church ministry. Some of the best-selling authors and projects I've worked on include Henry Cloud and John Townsend's Boundaries, Beverly Lewis's Holly Heart series, Les and Leslie Parrott's Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts, Ann Voskamp's One Thousand Gifts, Karen Ehman's Keep It Shut, Christine Caine's Unexpected, Ruth Soukup's Living Well Spending Less, Kara Powell's Sticky Faith, Jim Cymbala's Storm, Sarah Price's Amish romances, and Terri Blackstock's suspense thrillers. In addition, I have written two classic best-selling children's picture books: Legend of the Candy Cane and Legend of the Easter Egg (in two editions, one illustrated by Jim Bernardin and the other by Richard Cowdrey), as well as devotionals in the NIRV Kids' Devotional Bible. A lifelong bookworm, I delight in helping authors hone their book's structure, concepts, flow, and sentences. As a publishing professional, I enjoy focusing on the marketability as well as the literary integrity of each book I edit. As I tell authors, I aim to be their book's first, best reader.

Lori was awesome. I say that because her feedback resulted in me completely changing direction and while that entailed more work allowed me to end up with a piece that I truly feel proud of. If you are the type of person who enjoys constructive criticism that leads to a better product then I think you'll be as happy as I was. Lori is a great resource!

Lori was a pleasure to work with. She was very supportive of my vision and really helped with the grammatical and overall idea of the book. If I didn't understand something, she took the time out to explain it to me in detail. She finished on time and checked back with me after the work was complete to make sure I was pleased with the result. She is very Christ-centered so if your book is in ...
