Overview
A few of the authors I have worked with:
• Jill Sanders, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author
• Christopher Heard, Canadian author and TV personality
• Richard Campbell (author of Writing Your Legacy: The Step-by-Step Guide to Crafting Your Life Story) - worked on two of his fiction works
• Terri Lenee Peake, Penthouse Pet of October 1987
• Greg Dubuque (fine artist) - his novel and his screenplay
I created and ran the literary magazine Mouse Tales Press from 2010 to 2016, and I have experience editing web and app content for outside clients.
My education includes a copyediting certificate from University of California, San Diego; classes in proofreading, developmental editing, manuscript evaluation, and book mapping; and poetry, short story, screenplay, and novel writing, including middle grade and young adult genres. I have a theatrical background, including an education in acting from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, which has given me a good understanding of character development.
Whether you would like developmental editing, copy or line editing, research, or even book mapping, I can tailor my services to fit the needs of any client.
My virtual office allows me to work with anyone worldwide and to offer affordable per page or per hour rates.
I enjoy working with writers at all craft levels and I look forward to speaking with you about your project.

TESTIMONIALS
I have been a published author since 1997 writing for large houses and small ones and have had several editors, all of whom made my books better, but I can honestly state that through all those years and all those books I have never had an editor more efficient, more insightful, and more precise than Linda G. Hatton. My relationship with Linda has been the most comfortable one I have yet had with an editor and I sincerely hope we work together on many more books down the road.
-Christopher Heard
Author of In Hemingway's Room
"Linda Hatton—if you are looking for an editor, run to this woman! While editing inside the box, she thinks outside the box. Linda does a terrific job: maintaining a writer's style, correcting grammar and punctuation, suggesting alternatives, meeting deadlines, and staying on budget!"
-C.A. Nichols
Author of EmbraceEmbarkEvolve; Inspirations, Guidance, and Humor to help you fight through your cancer journey!
"With a perfectly balanced palette of skills, both meticulously and creatively toned, Linda's editing brush found the mismatched shades of color my eyes had missed, and brightened the highlights on each and every page of my manuscript. I can't even begin to speak highly enough of her helpful nature and obvious passion for words. Her concern for keeping my story true to my vision, while helping me to see where my words had stumbled from the path, made for a perfect, painless, and wonderful collaboration."

"Linda provides editing services for Fountain Blue Publishing. I find her work to be thorough and impeccable. She is detail oriented and knows her way around with a red pen. I would recommend Linda to any author who wants to take their draft manuscript and turn it into a polished piece of work."
-Melanie Fountain
Fountain Blue Publishing, Editor in Chief/Owner
"As a fairly new fiction writer, I find that submitting work for others to read is one of the hardest parts. It is hard to hand over your "baby" and have someone hand it back, holding their nose. So, it was with trepidation that I handed over one of my stories to Linda G. Hatton for editing. I am sorry that I wasted the time worrying about it. Linda was so incredibly good and positive. All of her suggested changes were not only helpful but done in a way that made me feel like we were a team. It was a great experience working with her."
