I'm a freelance copy editor and proofreader with experience working in reference, narrative and genre fiction, narrative non-fiction, cookbooks, self-help, and more.
I have worked as a freelance proofreader focusing on trade editions and mass market materials for Crown Publishing, Callisto Media, Tor/Forge, and St. Martin's Press. Additionally, I am a freelance copy editor for Quercus and Callisto Media. I have worked on a variety of titles from literary fiction and non-fiction to genre fiction.
As the assistant to the editorial director at Facts On File, Inc., I have been able to polish my editorial skills by working with authors and domestic packagers to develop several new series as well as revised editions of previous titles. I have guided books through all aspects of launch preparation, from copy editing and proofreading to copyright and CIP registration. As Facts On File's model has shifted from traditional publishing to primarily digital, I have gained extensive experience tracking and revising titles through the company's content management system and preparing titles for launch as e-books and database articles. Our company has changed publishing models rapidly, and I am quick to learn new techniques and methods for editing.
