I’m a full time freelance illustrator specializing in young adult and middle reader graphic novels since 2016. My graphic novel NORROWAY BOOK 1: THE BLACK BULL OF NORROWAY (Image Comics) was nominated for an Eisner award and made the YALSA list in 2019 for the Best Comics for Teens category, respectively. My previous illustration credits include AFAR (Image Comics), NORROWAY BOOKS 1 and 2 (Image), WONDER WOMAN: WARBRINGER (DC Comics), BRIGHTLY WOVEN (Disney-Hyperion), and COVEN (Penguin Random House, Sept. 2022). I’ve also completed smaller comics projects for BOOM! and Iron Circus Comics.

I make my home with three cats and two standard poodles in a grove of live oaks and mad squirrels in Savannah, Georgia. A region known for hot sticky summers, the maddening hum of cicadas, and the unsuspected crunch of a palmetto bug underfoot. I love it here. I’m a little bit spooky. I enjoy scary movies and ghost stories. My favorite past times include nurturing my animals and plants, embroidery, and playing piano (badly).

Note: I’m temporarily unavailable to take on graphic novel interior work or large illustration projects for the foreseeable future, but I am available for cover illustrations. When my schedule permits, I will announce my availability for new comics projects on this page. Thank you for your patience!

If you’re interested in my illustration work for your project, there are a couple things to keep in mind. I draw and render all the elements for a cover or illustration by hand. These are typically done digitally in a program like procreate or Photoshop. I have a lot of experience preparing files for print or digital media. I’m well versed in an array of traditional materials as well, but these require much more time (days or weeks depending on the scope of the project) and are much pricier. My primary mediums are ink, watercolor, gouache, and mixed media. I can hand draw titles but I’m also comfortable working with fonts.
My software experience includes:
Clip Studio Paint

My typical process upon agreeing to the terms of an assignment, is to create a small array of rough concepts. Once a concept or two is accepted, I draw two or three tighter roughs with color comps. Once these are approved with a round of revisions, I complete the final artwork. I do allow one round of revisions on the final art for small tweaks.
I ask that any major revisions are done in the earlier preliminary stage. Find process examples of the cover for BRIGHTLY WOVEN in my Reedsy gallery.

My rates and pricing vary based on the scope of work and it’s use, wether it’s covers, illustrations, or comics pages. It helps a great deal to include your budget, and as much detail as possible about the imagery you would like included in the design. I will usually quote a rate consistent with what I’ve earned on past industry work. Any and all information you can provide will help me determine a fair quote, and wether I am the right artist for your project.
Keep in mind that I provide a premium service, which includes a high quality finished product. This may mean a more expensive service, but it comes about with frequent communication to reach the desired result. It is a professional creative partnership with a lot of back and forth.

Thanks so much for your time and attention! If you have any further questions please feel free to send me a message.
