I have over 25 years of experience in design and typesetting, having worked in print, advertising and over 13 years in publishing. Having trained as a Compositor/Typesetter in a printing firm in the early 90s, I was nominated for and won numerous apprenticeship awards during that time. I went on to working in advertising in the late 90s, stepped into publishing in 2001 where I grew in confidence in book design and production and started freelancing in 2005.
Since going freelance, I have worked as a book designer for numerous publishing firms, and was the co-winner in 2008 of the 56th Annual Australian Publishers Association Design Award for 'The Best Designed Secondary Education Book'. In 2014, Canon Reloaded, a book I designed and set, was joint winner in the 'Secondary: Student Resource – Junior' category at Australian Publishers Association Awards, with Grammar Matters, a book I designed the internals for, receiving a 'Highly Commended' in the Secondary: Teaching Resource category.
I have a passion for design and layout in all areas and pride myself on presenting very high-quality work whilst achieving very effective turnarounds.
