Working as a freelance writer I have had to use my initiative to source projects and contacts. Freelancing has required me to have excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills to successfully manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines. My focus and excellent time management skills enable me to work independently without distraction.
I have had an abundance of experience sourcing and taking accompanying images for articles as well as audio and video files for online platforms. Working in online media as well as managing my own blog, I have also gained basic HTML knowledge as well as an understanding of Web Content Management Systems.
In my employment history, I have assisted writers with editing and fact-checking, which has honed my eye for detail and command of syntax and grammar.
Running my own author blog, I constantly have an ear to the literary scene, fuelling my passion for all literary genres, especially fantasy. I have experience writing non-fiction articles on the occult and alternate history as well.
I work as a freelance content creator, ghostwriter, editor and proofreader. I have profiles on major freelance sites, all with good ratings. I have undertaken development editing, copy-editing and proofreading for Indie publishers and authors. I also create content for international companies such as L'Oreal, Just-Eat and Ebookers.
In the past, I wrote content for English language schools and preschools (one of which I opened and ran myself until I decided to return to England to put my daughters into school). I was responsible for creating marketing material, school documents and reports, teacher training materials and tests.
I worked for a translation company in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I wrote end of year reports, project proposals and edited any documents as needed.
