Katie Crous – Editor

I’m an experienced editor who can help with all your editorial needs. I love making text clearer and more accessible, accurate and engaging – in short, I make it “sing”, while ensuring it hits the right notes. With a background in marketing, communications and consumer magazine sub-editing, I moved into book publishing 15 years ago, working in London as Senior Editor for a major international publisher of illustrated non-fiction. For the last five years I have worked as a successful freelance editor in beautiful Bath. From vocational fashion and photography books to the natural world, from health and lifestyle to travel, from arts & crafts to TV tie-ins, I love nothing more than wrangling with the text to make the content work as hard as possible and to provide the best experience for the intended reader. I work largely under my own initiative but always maintain close collaboration with the author and publisher. I mainly copy-edit, proofread and project manage, and can also write/rewrite content to fit the house/author's style and Americanise or Anglicise English text.
