Overview

For over 15 years, Karan has worked in her online business Manuscripts Plus in a great range of subjects ranging from ballet to astrophysics. She specializes in languages, ESL, and legal matters. She is a certified paralegal and was accepted for the JD at American University. She has edited hundreds of theses and dissertations in all subjects. She has edited all manner of books concerning windmill production in California to innovative business practices. She has also edited a wide range of novels including historical and science fiction topics and has just finished a marvelous 700 page novel centered on magical and strange events in Louisiana. She is a published writer herself, currently with 18 works on Kindle, most important being LION MOUNTAIN. a tetralogy--all of which she is converting to Create Space. She began winning first prizes in elementary school for "How I Love America" and "The Trillium Trail"--with a bond and a flower book. In her adult life, she won an award from The National Society of Arts and Letters and many "honorable mentions." She has worked as Editor and Assistant Editor for close to ten years for a number of organizations including one of the leading law firms and Carnegie Magazine in Pittsburgh, PA. She is constantly editing in her head things she sees on the internet and is very concerned about the decline in proper and effective usage of the English language. She grew up in a Serbian-speaking household in Pittsburgh, began learning French at age 6, is a certified teacher of English and French in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and California, and has taken 20 years to complete a French text, which she has used for many years, currently on Kindle: "Mon Livre Francais Simple: Ecrit Par Mme Henley Pour Ses Fils Charles et Lee." She has studied: Italian, German, Greek, Lithuanian, and several tribal languages of Sierra Leone for her tetralogy. She currently has a Russian/American student in Portland and a Honduran student in LA who are studying ESL with her as well as other students locally in Fort Bragg, CA. She is looking for other editing work/resume work/teaching opportunities nationwide and worldwide.
