Overview

I'm a veteran of the NYC book trade, with experience as a
managing editor, copy chief, senior editor, senior production editor, and
picture-book author. I've worked one-on-one with the likes of Jennifer Holm,
whose middle-grade novels are consistently honored by ALSC's Newbery Medal judges. My first job in the industry was under Charlotte Zolotow’s Harper Junior Books Group, and I got to watch up close the creative process of geniuses such as Shel Silverstein, Maurice Sendak, and Charlotte herself, among others. I've worked on every genre in every category, including adult trade books and university press titles. Being a published author
as well as a publishing professional with management experience gives me a unique outlook as an editor: I can assess a manuscript from both the perspective of the in-house staff as well as from that of the author. Every subject is of interest to me, but I resonate especially with junior books and all topics metaphysical. In the end, I am the reader's advocate, and that is what every book needs.
