Experienced and versatile publicist and marketer with a focus on literary fiction, arts and culture, and political nonfiction titles.
At Verso, I specialize in literature in translation, arts and culture, and select political nonfiction titles, executing full publicity campaigns for 20+ titles per season through print, radio, and online media and arranging traditional and nontraditional events. I also cultivate and maintain relationships with key media, pitching our full list each season.
As head of the marketing department and interim head of publicity at Tiller Press, a new imprint of Simon & Schuster, I managed all stages of marketing and publicity campaigns, from preparing marketing materials to managing advertizing, cultivating media relationships, and securing press coverage for our entire frontlist.
I managed marketing and publicity for Common Notions, a small radical publisher based in Brooklyn. I also assisted with the transition to a new distributor.
As the lead publicist and marketer at Abbeville Press, I developed successful publicity campaigns through print, radio, and online media. I executed traditional and digital marketing campaigns and assessed their effectiveness through data analysis and reporting. Additionally, I wrote our monthly newsletter, maintained the company website and social media platforms, prepared marketing and publicity materials for sales conferences and author events, and investigated paid and organic advertising opportunities.
As community assistant at NetGalley, I moderated an online community of 300,000+ professional readers. I managed the company's social media accounts, created content for its high-traffic blog, developed a digital strategy, and contributed to marketing campaigns. Additionally, I fostered partnerships with publishers and bookselling, library, and media organizations, attended conferences and industry events, and tracked and demonstrated community growth through monthly analytics reports.
As editorial assistant at Other Press, I evaluated all incoming submissions, wrote jacket, catalog, and sales copy, cleared permissions, applied for grants, and researched and solicited blurbs. As interim head of the Foreign Rights department, I pitched titles on rights submission, managed contracts, prepared our weekly rights memo for agents and scouts, organized our bi-annual rights guide and catalog, and coordinated book fair scheduling and travel.
As a temporary publicity assistant for Michelle Tabnick Communications, a leading arts and theater communications firm, I created press releases for targeted client lists, maintained press clippings and contacts, oversaw the production of successful client events--including annual galas--and pitched and solicited press coverage.
