You are a great writer, but your grammar… well, grammar is a whole different animal. It’s okay, though. That’s what I’m here for. You can concentrate on writing your great American novel or college essay or whatever you’re doing, and I’ll go over it with a fine-toothed comb to ensure that the punctuation is right, the words are used appropriately, and the sentences flow smoothly. Let my obsession with grammar work in your favor.
I've been obsessed with grammar since third grade, and I’ve been editing novels for Grey Gecko Press since 2013. Currently, 11 books have been published with my edits, including Asperger’s on the Inside, Addleton Heights, and A Wing and a Prayer, with more on the way.
I copy edit according to the Chicago Manual of Style, the style accepted by most companies that publish fiction in the United States.
I've edited twelve books that have been published. I've been trained in copy editing according to the Chicago Manual of Style, which includes the proper use of punctuation, capitalization, numerals, word order, word choice, and much more. I make notes of things that I think need changing, and I also make notes of things in the story that stand out in a positive way. My focus is on the details that require a careful perusal of each and every word to give the literary work a polish that preserves the author's individual style.

George Wright Padgett weaves a cat-and-mouse m... read more
