I am a freelance proofreader and an associate member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP). Specialist interests include marketing, business, charity, education, parenting, keeping fit, rugby and health. I am happy to edit hard copy or on-screen. I have completed the SfEP introduction to proofreading course and am currently studying the Publishing Training Centre (PTC) introduction to proofreading by distance learning course.
As part of a wider role as marketing manager, I was responsible for proofreading all marketing collateral, including annual reports, impact reports, advertising copy, editorial copy, website copy, social media copy, press releases and parent information. Given that our target audience was both hearing and deaf, I had to ensure that copy was accessible to all.
