Jill K. Sayre – Editor

Editor, Writing Coach, Author, and Educator

I am a writer, educator, writing coach, and editor with an MA in creative writing. I specialize in MG, YA, and women's fiction, but I love fiction of all kinds. I'm known as "The Scribe Fairy." I have had my own writing coach business for more than ten years. In my other professional life, I have been a middle school English teacher and have run local literary festivals.

I have helped many get their ideas written and prepared for publication. I teach classes on writing, editing, and finding inspiration, as well as working with authors one-on-one. I help with word choice, world-building, character development, and all the usual grammatical details. If all you need is content editing, that's great. Want everything from plot to dialogue worked on, we can do that too.

I read like a writer and write like a reader. Working with authors, established or aspiring, gives me great joy. If you want to work with someone who is supportive, gives excellent constructive feedback, and is easy to work with, I'm the perfect person for you.

I have written, ghostwritten, and edited books; coached writers; and taught classes and seminars on writing. I help with query letters, synopsizes, and the fleshing out of ideas. My company has helped to publish and sell works and has attended dozens of writing conferences and book events.

Aug, 1994 — May, 2021 (over 26 years)

I worked as an educator most of my life, mostly working with elementary, middle school, and high school students. I have taught English the majority of the time, but I have also been an art, ESL, and creative writing teacher. Working with students of all ages has been my calling.
