I am a freelance editor specializing in developmental/substantive editing & final proofreading for works of fiction focusing on Young Adult and Adult Fantasy, Women's Fiction, and Mystery/Thriller/Suspense. I work with individual authors as well as independent publishing houses. I have worked with Bleeding Ink Publishing and Clear Fork Publishing providing final proofreading. I am also on the YA Review Board for Clear Fork Publishing. Additionally, I am a YA/MG Judge for The Purple Dragonfly Awards and a book reviewer for "Story Monsters, Ink" for picture books, MG, and YA novels.
Currently, I work with Pandamoon Publishing providing mainly developmental/substantive editing and line editing. However, I have also provided copy editing and final proofreading as well. Additionally, I have assisted in the Acquisitions Department for Pandamoon Publishing. I have read through submissions and provided comments for the Acquisitions Manager as well as participated in Twitter pitch parties to invite submissions. I also run a monthly Twitter chat #thewriterszen, which was the inspiration behind my new book THE ZEN OF WRITING (Pandamoon Publishing, Fall 2018).
I am represented by Rebecca Angus of Golden Wheat Literary and being a published author of both fiction and nonfiction has been an asset as an editor. I love working with authors to make a manuscript the best it can be no matter what genre I am working on.
I am a member of The Editorial Freelancers Association, The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), and The Women's Fiction Writer's Association (WFWA) where I am a webinar program leader.
I look forward to working with you in your writing endeavors!
