I'm based in Vancouver, Canada, but began my editing career in the Bay Area, first working for the indie publisher Counterpoint/Soft Skull Press in 2010. I currently fulfill contracts for Amazon Publishing and Inkshares and am excited to work on traditionally and self-published books alike. I truly appreciate each manuscript that comes into my hands and work tirelessly to catch every error possible. My communication with clients is always respectful and supportive, and I favor editing with a light hand to truly let your writing shine.
If you're looking to produce a polished final manuscript, I'm your gal. I relish correcting errors, I'm an avid collector of style manuals, and I fact-check just for the fun of it. But don't call me the grammar police: truly knowing all the rules is knowing when to break them . . . and record them on your impeccably organized style sheet.
Since becoming a freelance editor, I've worked on novels published by Inkshares and Amazon Publishing and have been very lucky to work with award-winning and best-selling authors such as Amanda Prowse, Aaron Elkins, Anne Charnock, and Katja Kettu. The genres I most frequently edit are mystery, historical fiction, romance, YA, science fiction, and fantasy. Working on novels under the AmazonCrossing imprint has also provided me a wealth of experience editing translations. Additionally, as a Brit who lived for many years in America, I am often hired to edit British novels for the US market, as well as novels written by US authors and set in the UK.
eNotes is an academic publisher that develops study guides and teaching materials for thousands of classic novels, plays, and short stories. I was assistant editor there for three years and oversaw its Q and A division, editing content provided by teachers and professors across the world and covering many varied topics.
