I've assisted in bringing nearly eighty manuscripts to publication. Beyond the sample book titles in the portfolio below, I've collaborated on editing literature study guides for the Course Hero website, articles for Idaho Magazine and Mary Jane's Farm, academic articles, as well as pdf downloads on wellness and cookbooks.
I previously worked on the editorial staff of The Idaho Review, Boise State University's literary journal. During that time, I read approximately one hundred short stories a month and assisted in copyediting stories by Ann Beattie, Edith Pearlman, Janet Peery, Joy William, Kali Fajardo-Anstine, Mary O'Connell, Stephen Dixon, and Robert Boswell.
I've also taught composition at the college level and English at the secondary level. In addition to teaching language arts to ninth and tenth grade students, I also designed and implemented the curriculum for a creative writing course that included units on writing memoirs, short stories, poetry, personal essays, 10-minute plays, and children's literature.
I hold a master's degree in English education with additional credits earn toward a graduate degree in rhetoric and composition. My bachelor's degree is in English with an emphasis in writing. During that time, I participated in numerous graduate and undergraduate writing workshops in fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry.
