Make every word count! I copyedit and critique manuscripts with a critical eye aimed at nurturing author growth.

Overview

As owner of Word Bank Writing & Editing, I've assisted in bringing nearly sixty projects to publication. Projects not listed in the portfolio below can be viewed on Word Bank's Facebook page. This includes classic literature study guides edited for the Course Hero Website, various articles, and cookbooks.

I previously worked on the editorial staff of The Idaho Review, Boise State University's literary journal. During that time, I read approximately one hundred short stories a month and assisted in copyediting stories by Ann Beattie, Edith Pearlman, Janet Peery, Joy William, Kali Fajardo-Anstine, Mary O'Connell, Stephen Dixon, and Robert Boswell.

I've also taught composition at the college level and English at the secondary level. In addition to teaching Language Arts to ninth and tenth grade students, I have also designed and implemented the curriculum for a creative writing course that included units on writing memoirs, short stories, poetry, personal essays, 10-minute plays, and children's literature.

I hold a master's degree in English education with additional credits earned toward a graduate degree in rhetoric and composition. My bachelor's degree is in English with an emphasis in writing. During that time, I participated in numerous graduate and undergraduate writing workshops in fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry.
