Overview

I’m a writer and editor from Memphis, Tennessee. My writing has appeared in Outside, Men’s Journal, Wired, and The Millions, among other places. My long-form editing work has appeared in Best American Science and Nature Writing, received honorable mention in Best American Sportswriting, and won three golds at the Lowell Thomas Awards. I’ve been a contributing features editor at the digital magazine Matter, from Medium/Twitter. I co-edited The Southerner’s Handbook, a New York Times Bestseller. Formerly, I was a senior features editor at Outside, where I edited Wells Tower, Benjamin Percy, Rowan Jacobsen, Bucky McMahon, Patrick Symmes, Jane Smiley, and many others.
