Jennifer Churchill Riopel - Editor

Melrose, MA, United States

Editor and project manager in academic publishing with a flair for fastidious grammar and timely turnarounds.

With 10 years in publishing and a background spanning everything from law to medical journals, I am an efficient and flexible partner with extensive experience working with ESL authors, academics, and doctoral students.

After five years managing the production process for over a dozen social sciences and humanities titles at John Wiley & Sons, I transitioned to freelance proofreading, copyediting, and project management. I have proofread or copyedited a variety of journals including

Andrology, Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Journal of Hospital Medicine, Journal of Neuroimaging, Journal of Supply Chain Management, Journal of the Geriatric Society, Laryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, Law & Society Review, Neurourology and Urodynamics, Research and Practice in Thrombosis and Haemostasis,
Strategic Management Journal.

As the Editorial Project Manager for Wiley’s
Encyclopedia of English Language Teaching
, I trafficked entries from over one thousand authors through three levels of editing in ScholarOne, secured permissions, and exported to production.

My editing experience spans the American Medical Association, American Psychological Association, Chicago, and the Modern Language Association, along with many variations and publication-specific style guides.

I am available for both short-term and long-term projects with either publishers or with authors directly, helping to streamline processes and ensure the highest quality content possible.
