Originally from the suburbs of LA, I currently live and create between New York City and Cambridge, MA, where I am a student at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I studied art at CSU Long Beach, Parsons School of Design, and Syracuse University. Prior to my position at Penguin Young Readers, I worked at different imprints under the Penguin Random House umbrella (i.e. Crown Publishing, Random House Children's Books), worked in magazine publishing (i.e Teen Vogue, SELF, Visionaire), and even took some time in between to teach English as a Fulbright grantee in Malaysia.

I enjoy immersing myself in travel, arts and culture, and bringing all those sensibilities to my design work. When I am not reading (for both work and for pleasure), I enjoy cooking, and performing traditional music and dance from Indonesia and the Philippines.

Working with Jaclyn was a dream! I can't say enough good things about her. She developed a cover for my book that exceeded my expectations. I had some ideas, but she expanded on them and made them into something beautiful. She was a pleasure to work with in that she is very genuine, patient, and receptive to feedback. Should I ever write another book, I would call upon Jaclyn to be part of it.
