Overview

I'm George Saad, a super passionate, practical, multi-disciplinary designer and creative. Musical theatre geek, proud member of the Beyhive, Oscars historian, self proclaimed master chef, dumpling connoisseur, sneaker enthusiast, and collector of paper samples.

Virtuoso of graphic design, book design, brand identity, creative strategy, art direction, signage. With experience also in property marketing, letterpress printing and publishing, I offer a wide breadth of services. This means I've had the privilege of getting to know the book process intimately, from the initial design stages to understanding the print process at delivery.

The last two years I've been working as a senior designer at HarperCollins Publishers Australia. My work included marketing materials, event management and book design. I was responsible for creative directing and managing the roll out of the companies theme for 2019 & 2020. These were company wide campaigns that were rolled out nationally over the year.

I'm a trustworthy pair of hands, with experience in not only covers and book interiors but also marketing design. I understand how a book translates to the market and how they can be communicated effectively through strong marketing collateral. I don't follow trends or certain styles, it's always what's best for the brief. Collaboration is important to me, I'm always looking to learn and be educated by different people and professions.

I've also been lucky enough to have experienced the management side of a design studio. I've worked as studio, production and general managers in past roles. Gaining this experience has been invaluable in giving me the ability to not be too precious or fussy about my work, but also know the importance of being thorough, the value of presenting an idea and truly pinpointing a client's needs.

I value the unconventional and the unique, the playful and the practical. No project is too crazy or unachievable. If you have a creative project, a story to tell, a book to put together, or a recipe to share, I want to work with you.

I highly recommend George Saad. My book cover design was better than I could have ever imagined, and I have received thousands - and I mean thousands - of positive comments on the cover design in less than one month. George also did the internal pages of my book and made it so easy for me to go 'live' within minutes of receiving the files. George was professional, listened to my needs/feedb...
