I have 7 years experience designing and typesetting books for publishers, artists, authors, galleries and other cultural institutions. Anything from annual corporate reports and manuals with infographics, to gallery catalogues, poetry anthologies and screen plays.
John Morgan studio is one of the leading practices in the uk. During my time there I worked on projects for artists such as Antony Gormley, Helen Marten, Ragnar Kjartansson, Ian White, and with cultural institutions such as Barbican, the Artist’s Institute in New York, Raven Row gallery, David Chipperfield Architects, Art Review, and Berlin Documentary Forum.
I worked closely with artist and publisher Arnaud Desjardin at his publishing house and press in central London. As the studio assistant I was responsible for designing and typesetting numerous print-projects at any one time. I prepared documents for both out-sourced and in-house print jobs, for which I used a number of industrial machines.
I worked as a freelance designer for Soapbox, a London based communications agency who’s clients include the BBC, Royal Society of Arts, Unicef, British Academy, CAADA, Fabian Society, London Essays, Chatham House and ODI. My role involved typesetting and designing covers for corporate reports and creating graphs and other visualisations for complex data-sets.

Mantle of the Expert was published in 2016, and is the first book on theatre as a method of teaching since the founder released her own publication in the 70s. This publication has now sold-out and we are planning a second edition later this year.

Tim doesn't just tell us - in simple, clear and glorious detail - the what and how of Mantle of the Expert. But he delves beautifully and sensitively into the why. He shows us the importance of perspective in building children's ca... read more
